I’ve been looking forward to seeing ‘The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby‘ for months and now the international trailer of the film has been released, I want to see it even more. Not only does it star Jessica Chastain and the very hunky James McAvoy, but Isabelle Huppert, one of my favorite all-time French actresses, is also in the film. Or films, should I say. That’s because ‘The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby’ is actually three films – Him, Her and Them.
The movie(s) tells the story of a young couple, played by Chastain and McAvoy, who after a life-changing event discover that they’re growing apart. So much so that the woman thinks they should ‘take a break’ and soon after she leaves.
What happens is then looked at from both sides and from the two of them together as, after all, there are two sides to every story and what one person thinks is happening isn’t always reality.
The film has been called ‘groundbreaking cinema’ and James McAvoy is being lauded as absolutely superb in it. From the international trailer of The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby below, you can easily see why.
As for the three movies themselves, Them is due to be released in the United States on September 12, 2014, with Him and Her releasing on October 10th.
