The Princess’s Gambit earns 26,000 on the Tencent heat index — yep, the C-drama’s popularity is increasing

The new Liu Xue Yi and Meng Zi Yi drama The Princess’s Gambit has just exceeded Tencent’s 26,000 heat index for the first time, right after hitting 23,000 just a couple of days ago.

A celebratory visual of the entire main cast was released with that announcement, with a message to fans saying:

The Chinese drama is also continuing to perform well with international users of My Drama List, who are currently rating it a solid 8.2 out of 10.

Some people, myself included, are pointing out the quality of writing in the drama has fallen in the last few episodes but, for excellent performances (from the main and supporting cast) and a fun and quite exciting plot, The Princess’s Gambit is still a great choice.

The historical mystery romance C-drama’s first 11 episodes are streaming via WeTV internationally for VIP subscribers, with Episode 12 as an Express offering.
