The Seven Relics of Ill Omen reservations pass 1 million, stills, new posters drop – C-drama premieres June 8th?
It’s looking very much like the new C-drama The Seven Relics of Ill Omen will be premiering on YOUKU very soon. At least if all the promo pieces suddenly dropping are anything to go by.
Those promos include a new poster (below) celebrating The Seven Relics of Ill Omen just passing 1 million reservations on YOUKU, some very nice stills, and a new poster promoting the upcoming C-drama.

A message from YOUKU also asks fans to “Stay tuned!”
Meanwhile, word coming out of China is that The Seven Relics of Ill Omen will likely premiere on or near June 8th, although official confirmation has not yet released. Look out for it!
The Seven Relics of Ill Omen cast
The drama stars the main cast of Song Weilong (A League of Nobleman), Liu Haocun (Be Passionately in Love), and Ao Ruipen (The Blood of Youth).
The supporting cast is also solid, as it includes Wang Yiting (Everlasting Longing), Zhang Yichi (A Love Never Lost), Yang Haoyu (White Cat Legend), Yue Yaoli (Kill Me Love Me), and Yan Yikuan (Burning Flames).
And it’s a drama I am particularly interested in as, not only is it a fantasy adventure, a genre I generally love, but it’s only 32 episodes (Yay!) and stars Ao Ruipen (with long hair, no less), an actor whose over-act-y performance I recently suffered through in The Blood of Youth.
Not having seen him in anything else (yet, although Moonlight Mystique is next on my list), I am hoping The Seven Relics of Ill Omen is able to prove his acting skills aren’t as “hammy” as they appeared in that C-drama.
Fingers crossed. Especially as he is a couple of years older than when The Blood of Youth dropped, and has, hopefully, matured.
The Seven Relics of Omen plot
The upcoming Chinese fantasy adventure drama is based on the novel “Qi Gen Xiong Jian” (ä¸ƒæ ¹å‡¶ç®€) written by Wei Yu (尾鱼).
The Baidu Encylopedia explains its plot like this:
In ancient times, an unknown and mysterious substance descended upon Fengzi Ridge. It could parasitize human bodies, corrupt minds, and lead people to evil.
Now, the “Heart Slips” have reappeared in the world, followed by a series of bizarre and gruesome murders.
Five ordinary yet passionate young people—Mu Dai (played by Liu Haocun), Luo Ren (played by Song Weilong), Jiang Zhao (played by Ao Ruipeng), Yan Hongsha (played by Wang Yiting), and Cao Yanhua (played by Zhang Yichi)—are unexpectedly drawn into the Heart Slips incident due to their own circumstances.
Forming the Phoenix Team, they embark on a perilous journey to subdue the sinister slips.
Amidst life-and-death trials, Luo Ren and Mu Dai heal each other’s wounds and open their hearts. Through a thousand-mile trek and countless dangers, their friendship is tempered and forged into something even stronger.
The Seven Relics of Ill Omen production details
The Chinese drama is being directed by Tsai Yueh Hsun (蔡岳勳) (director of South Sea Tomb), with Wei Yu (尾鱼) (writer of Parallel World) writing the screenplay, and production by YOUKU.
The Seven Relics of Ill Omen began filming on July 16th, 2023, so it has been a while since filming ended and post-production began.
Its distribution license was finally awarded in April of this year.
Look out for its official premiere date being released by YOUKU very soon. But, from our sources, June 8th is looking pretty realistic so far.
We will update you here on Leo Sigh as soon as it hits, as this one looks like it may be a fun ride.
