The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess trailer stars the very YURI Ville and her love for Komari

Second The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess trailer makes vampire-themed anime look like fun

The second The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess trailer has been released today along with a new key visual for the upcoming vampire-themed anime series.

The new The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess trailer stars main girl and shut-in vampire Terakomari Gandesblood (forever after known as Komari), alongside personal maid Ville, in scenes that look more than just a little yuri.

The trailer begins with Komari waking up from a sleep only to find a strange girl in her room.

That girl is her new personal maid Villhaze. A maid who seems to be in love with Komari, while Komari, being the tsundere she obviously is, fights back against it.

The trailer ends with a glimpse at a new character — a mysterious, knife-wielding girl who proclaims “I will never allow it”.

And, with just a few minutes of animation from the new series released so far in this and the first trailer, and with the same gorgeous art style featured on the new The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess key visual (see below), I have to say this one looks like a heckuva lot of fun.

As well as absolutely beautiful.

Something most of the fans of the light novel series the anime is adapted from, and who are commenting in the trailer’s comment section, seem to agree with so far.

What is The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess?

The upcoming anime series is based on the popular light novel series written by Kotei Kobayashi and illustrated by Riichu.

The series has 11 volumes out in Japanese so far, with a 12th one being published in October.

New The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess key visual features an embarrassed Sakuna, an annoyed Komari and a brazenly yuri Villhaze

Meanwhile, Yen Press is publishing the English language version of The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess, with four volumes out so far and a fifth one due in September.

The light novel series also has a manga spin-off, which Yen Press will likely be also publishing soon. Fingers crossed.

Yen Press has this to say about the The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess plot:

Three years into her life as a shut-in, vampire Terakomari Gandesblood (Komari for short), awakens to find she’s been appointed as a Commander in the Mulnite Imperial Army! The thing is, her new unit consists solely of belligerent ruffians who revolt against their superiors at the slightest hint of weakness.

Although Komari hails from a line of vampires as powerful as they are prestigious, her refusal to drink blood has made her the picture of mediocrity-scrawny, un-coordinated, and inept at magic.

With the odds stacked against her, will the help of her trusty (and slightly infatuated) maid Vill be enough for this recluse to blunder her way to success? Or will Komari rue the day she ever left the safety of her room?

The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess is being directed by Tatsuma Minamikawa (Wave, Listen to Me), with scripts by Keiichiro Ochi (The Demon Girl Next Door), and those adorably cute character designs from Tomoyuki Shitaya (Blue Period).

Project No. 9 is in charge of anime production, hence that gorgeous animation and art style.

The anime itself will premiere in October, 2023. And yep, this one is a must-watch for me.
