To Be Hero X behind-the-scenes video showcases BeDream, Paper Plane Animation, LAN Studio and others
A new To Be Hero X behind-the-scenes video has been released today, which showcases the work of the studios creating the upcoming superhero-themed donghua (Chinese anime) series.
The behind-the-scenes video is only short, just under a minute, but it does a lovely job of pointing out all the work that goes into producing an animated series — from scenario and storyboarding, to voice acting and sound production, and both 2D and 3D-animation.

To Be Hero X (aka Tu Bian Yingxiong X) is being created by some of China’s best studios.
They include:
BeDream — responsible for scripts/scenario and storyboarding, as well as producer of the donghua in collab with Aniplex and Bilibili
Paper Plane Animation Studio — in charge of 3D-animation production,
Pb Animation Co. Ltd — responsible for 2D-animation production
LAN Studio — also in charge of 2D-animation
729 Voice Recording — one of China’s most successful voice acting studios in charge of voice dubbing for the animated series
Voice Bear — responsible for sound recording
To Be Hero X is being directed by Li Haoling, renowned director and founder of Haoliners Animation Studio.
He also directed some of China’s most successful animated series including Link Click, Heaven Official’s Blessing and To Be Hero, so we can expect something pretty spectacular here as well.
Check out the just-released To Be Hero X behind-the-scenes video below for a brief window into the world of one of the most anticipated donghua of 2025. It even briefly introduces the cat and dog that wander around two of these donghua studios. Awwwww.
The donghua itself is due to premiere in April, 2025.
