To Be Hero X creditless opening animation features bangin’ OP ‘Inertia’ by SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Rei
To Be Hero X creditless opening animation ramps up the excitement
Now that The Demon Hunter 2 has finally premiered, probably the most-anticipated Chinese donghua right now is To Be Hero X, the new super-hero themed animated series in the same franchise that gave us the very popular To Be Hero and To Be Heroine.
The donghua itself is a collab between Chinese company Bilibili and Japanese company Aniplex.
And, while it is still almost half a year from hitting streaming services, the folks bringing us To Be Hero X are still constantly releasing promo pieces to help ramp up the excitement even more.
That’s why, late last night, a To Be Hero X creditless opening animation sequence was uploaded to Bilibili’s YouTube channel along with information about the donghua’s opening and ending themes.
Those theme songs are the OP ‘Inertia‘ by SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Rei (aka Japanese composer Hiroyuki Sawano and Rei, lead singer of Japanese rock band Newspeak), which you can hear in the To Be Hero X creditless opening animation, and which is absolutely bangin’, and the donghua’s ED ‘Kontinuum‘ by SennaRin.
Hiroyuki Sawano, of course, is also the genius composer of soundtracks like The Seven Deadly Sins, Attack on Titan, and Kill La Kill, so it’s no wonder the OP is so bangin’, right?
The To Be Hero X premiere date was also revealed to be some time in April, 2025.

To Be Hero X production details
The donghua, aka Tu Bian Yingxiong X is directed by acclaimed Haoliners Animation League founder and director Haoling Li (Heaven Official’s Blessing).
It is being animated by BeDream with Paper Plane Animation Studio in charge 3-D animation, Pb Animation and LAN Studio in charge of 2-D animation, and with Aniplex, Bilibili and BeDream co-producing.
729 Voice Studio is in charge of the voice acting.
The plot of To Be Hero X
The explanation of the upcoming donghua’s plot below is paraphrased from information released by Bilibili:
The super hero action series follows a number of seemingly ordinary people who, after the faith of others has turned them into super heroes, are ranked as heroes according to how much faith the general public has in them.
Every two years, a tournament is then held where each hero competes, and where their rankings are adjusted according to the competition’s outcome.
The hero who appears at the top of the rankings is from then on referred to as ‘X’.
The current X is also the hero featured in the new To Be Hero X creditless opening animation, which you can watch above.
To Be Hero X will stream on Bilibili and on Crunchyroll.
We will keep you updated here at Leo Sigh as more information about the what-looks-like-will-be a fabulous animated series comes out.
