Touken Ranbu Kai prequel film releases Ookurikara character video to showcase the powerful loner

The next in a series of six character videos is out for the upcoming Touken Ranbu Kai Kyoden prequel film Touken Ranbu Kai –Douden Chikashi Samuraira Umonora–.

This time it’s a character video for Ookurikara, which was released via the anime’s official X account earlier today.

The Ookurikara character video showcases the uchigatana (Japanese sword) said to be made by Hiromitsu of Aishuu, and known as being someone who is a loner who both enjoys being alone and working alone.

In battle, however, he is also one of the Citadel’s most powerful swords.

The incredibly handsome Ookurikara is voiced by Makoto Furukawa (Sousuke in A Salad Bow of Eccentrics).

The Ookurikara character video joins the other Touken Ranbu Kai –Douden Chikashi Samuraira Umonora– character videos released so far.

They are the unconfident but powerful Yamanbagiri Kunihiro, the incredibly stylish Shokudaikiri Mitsutada, the witty and self-confident Tsurumaru Kuninaga, and Hanamaru Saniwa’s trustworthy and hard-working attendant Heshikiri Hasebe.

The upcoming Touken Ranbu Kai –Douden Chikashi Samuraira Umonora– film features a completely new story from the anime series.

It is being directed by Kazuya Ichikawa, with animation production by studio domerica.

The film will premiere in Japanese movie theaters on August 16th, with a release in the west some time after.
