Episode 11’s ratings not as good as they should have been
After the 10th episode of Undercover High School earned its lowest rating yet last Saturday night, the K-drama’s latest episode recovered slightly last night, but not as much as it should have done considering it was its penultimate episode.
That nationwide rating for Undercover High School, Episode 11 on Friday night was 6.0 percent — an increase from the much lower 5.4 percent for Episode 10, but still the MBC drama’s third lowest rating of its run.
A similar result was also seen from viewers in Seoul, with Episode 11 of the Korean drama earning 6.3 percent compared to last week’s 5.3 percent.
Yes, that is a significant increase but is still one of the K-drama’s lowest ratings.
International ratings after Undercover High School, Episode 11 airs/streams
Oddly, however, on My Drama List — a site that is known for its lower ratings than other online sources — Undercover High School is still being rated a very high average (for their users) of 8.6 out of 10.
And with almost 5,000 people rating the Korean drama so far.
In fact, after the last episode, just about the only complaints were about the smacking, slurping and churning of food we often see in Korean actors’ mouths as they speak.
And, please, can we stop. (To which, I say, I wholeheartedly agree).
Meanwhile, as you might expect on Viki where their subscribers just rate dramas much higher than anywhere else, Undercover High School is still being rated a massively huge 9.7 out of 10. Also with almost 5,000 viewers rating it.
In other words, at least international K-drama fans seem to be appreciating what has turned out to be an extremely fun and entertaining show.
Undercover High School stars Seo Kang Joon, Jin Ki Joo, and Kim Shin Rok, with an excellent supporting cast that includes Jeon Bae Soo, Yoon Ga Yi, Jo Bok Rae, Lee Seo Hwan and Im Chul Hyung.
The last episode of the Korean drama airs on MBC in S. Korea tonight, with Viki streaming it for its international subscribers. Let’s hope we see a bump in its ratings. (Update: We didn’t).
