The upcoming Unnamed Memory anime series got a new visual today via its official Twitter account.
The first Unnamed Memory visual features protagonist Tinasha — the Witch of the Azure Moon — and the wife-to-be of Oscar, a man who lives under a curse.
Along with a teaser video for the fantasy romance anime, the cast has also been named.
The members of that cast are:
Atsumi Tanezaki (Anya in SPY x FAMILY), who is voicing Tinasha
Yoshiki Nakajima (Seimei in Bakumatsu), who plays Oscar
Considering the light novel series has been praised by critics for its characters, hopefully the two talented voice actors will have something to sink their teeth into.
Kazuya Miura (Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!) is directing the anime, with Deko Akao (Komi Can’t Communicate) in charge of series composition, and Chika Noumi (KanColle Season 2: Let’s Meet at Sea) as the character designer.
ENGI (The Detective is Already Dead) is in charge of anime production.
The anime is based on the light novel series written by Kuji Furumiya, with illustrations by Chibi. A manga adaptation with artwork by Naoki Koshimizuhas also been published, with four volumes currently available in Japanese and two in English.
Yen Press is publishing the English version of the novels with six volumes currently out, and has this to say about their plot:
Climbing a deadly tower, Oscar seeks the power of its master, the Witch of the Azure Moon. He hopes her incredible magic can break a curse that will kill any woman he takes for a wife. When the prince sees how beautiful Tinasha is, though, he has a better idea-since she’s surely strong enough to survive his curse, she should just marry him instead!
Tinasha isn’t keen on the idea, but agrees to live with Oscar in the royal castle for a year while researching the spell placed on the prince. The witch’s pretty face hides several lifetimes of dark secrets, however-secrets that begin resurfacing…
