Violent-looking ‘Faith and Fire’ poster drops with reminder C-drama premieres on June 28th
Now, I’m not sure what length each episode of the upcoming C-drama Faith & Fire will turn out to be, but it is tagged as a ‘Short Length Series’ on Douban.
Considering the Chinese drama (titled ‘Parrot‘ in Chinese) is a web drama and is listed as having 40-44 episodes (depending on which Chinese site you look at), that must mean each episode only runs for a few minutes.
But I guess we will find out when it drops on June 28th, eh?
With that premiere heading our way fast, though, that’s why we just got a new heads-up Faith & Fire poster reminding us the Chinese drama will drop in 3 days.
That reminder came via Tencent’s Weibo account, along with the comment:
“Web Series ‘Faith & Fire: 3 Days Left”
Through trials and battles, flames blaze as friends and foes blur.
In the gang rivalry, who will rise to the top?
June 28th at 12 PM (Beijing Time), exclusively on @Tencent Video – #ShortDrama. Stay tuned! #WebSeriesParrot#
Reserve now on Tencent Video.
Faith & Fire production details
The crime-themed C-drama is directed by Zhang Rui (Miss Chun is a Litigator), and stars Kelly Yu (The Disappearing Child), Ye Liu (The Great Nobody), and Vanness Wu (in his first C-drama in a not-guest-role since his 2018’s Love Won’t Wait).
Its plot, which actually sounds intriguing as it takes place in the gang circles of Taiwan, goes like this:
Chen Tianshuang, who had always dreamed of being a hero since childhood, joins the national security system after graduating from sports school.
During a mission with his best friend, he witnesses his comrade die before his eyes. Traumatized by the experience, he choses to leave the national security system and become an ordinary fish vendor.
After a period of peaceful life, his exceptional skills lead to his recall into the national security system.
Sent to Taiwan to infiltrate a gang and uncover their smuggling operations, he thrives under the guidance of a meticulously crafted “script,” overcoming obstacles with ease. Embracing the exhilarating rhythm of his mission, he quickly integrates into the local town’s life and social circles.
Yet, the optimistic Tianshuang remains unaware that the brutal realities of gang warfare and the perilous nature of undercover work are quietly lying in wait, ready to test him…
Again, reminder, Faith & Fire premieres on Tencent (and hopefully WeTV) on June 28th and, if that poster is anything to go by, it looks like things could kick off pretty violently very fast.
