Upcoming BBC One historical miniseries Taboo just got a new trailer, and it’s looking like this eight-episode drama is going to be cool.
Set in 1814, Taboo stars Tom Hardy, Oona Chaplin, David Hayman, Michael Kelly and Jonathan Pryce and tells the story of an adventurer, James Delaney (played by Tom Hardy), who arrives back in the U.K. after years living in Africa, and sets out to get vengeance after the death of his father.
The series was also written by star Tom Hardy, along with his father Chips Hardy and Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things, Closed Circuit, Peaky Blinders).
Taboo will premiere on BBC One on Saturday, January 7th, and in the U.S. on FX on January 10th. Watch the trailer below. Because, man, that looks like it’s going to be another epic British TV series.
