Anime Welcome to the Outcast’s Restaurant gets slew of new information prior to July 3rd premiere
The anime adaptation of the hit light novel series Welcome to the Outcast’s Restaurant (aka Tsuihousha Shokudou e Youkoso!) has a new trailer, key visual and a firm premiere date.
The fantasy gourmet anime will premiere on July 3rd, and will air in Japan on TOKYO MX.
No word yet on where it will stream internationally.
The latest Welcome to the Outcast’s Restaurant key visual is also a sweet one as it features Dennis, the happy and smiling former adventurer party cook, and now-diner owner, who moved out of the city to open a restaurant after he was backstabbed by his so-called friends.
In the visual, Dennis is doing what he loves to do most — serving his customers with the delicious food he cooks.
Those customers, by the way, are Atelier, the petite co-owner of his diner, along with frequent customers Bachel, Vivia and Henrietta.
Along with the visual, which was released on the anime’s official X account, the voice actors for Bachel, Vivia and Henrietta were also named alongside their character’s designs.
They are:

They join previously announced voice actors Shunsuki Takeuchi (Kaguragi in Kaiju No. 8) who is voicing Dennis, and Marika Tachibana (Yuna in Love Me, Love Me Not) who plays Atelier.
And, if that wasn’t enough information for you, a new trailer is out showing what life is like running a restaurant. (below)
Well, that and giving us a hint that Dennis might just be a little bit more overpowered than you might expect, while also showing a little of the backstory of his co-owner and most frequent guests.
The trailer also gives us a snippet of the anime’s fast and upbeat OP — ‘Unique‘ by J-pop trio Dannie May.
Welcome to the Outcast’s Restaurant anime adaptation details
The upcoming fantasy anime is being adapted from the light novel and manga series written by Yūki Kimikawa and illustrated by Gaou (with the manga illustrated by Tsumumi).
The light novel series was originally licensed for publication in English by Tentai Books, but that publisher has since closed down so, at the moment, you’re out of luck if you want a legal copy.
Its manga adaptation has been a little more lucky, however, as it is published by Kaiten Books, with four volumes currently out in English in digital form (there are nine in Japanese).
The Welcome to the Outcast’s Restaurant anime adaptation is being directed by Jouji Shimura (the Tamagotchi! series), with Deko Akao (The Unaware Atelier Meister) in charge of series composition, and with Aoi Yamato (Life with an Ordinary Guy who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout) designing the characters.
Studio OLM (The Apothecary Diaries) is animating.
As for the anime’s plot, the first volume of the original Japanese light novel describes it like this:
Dennis, who had been supporting the strongest party, the “Silver Wing Battalion,” as their cook, was exiled after incurring the leader’s displeasure—precisely because of his exceptional charisma and skills.
Having lost his place, Dennis chose a new path: that of a “chef.”
“My days as an adventurer may be over,
but my life as a chef has only just begun.”Together with Atelier, a despairing girl who had also been cast out from her own place, he finally opens his long-dreamed-of eatery!
Welcome to the “Adventurer’s Diner”—
Where even the rowdiest of patrons are instantly charmed by supreme culinary skills.
And if that’s not enough, Dennis’s natural strength sweeps away all their troubles too!!
Check out the new Welcome to the Outcast’s Restaurant trailer and, yep, this one not only looks like a lot of fun but that animation is nice too, right?
