What does The Elder Scrolls VI teaser trailer tell us? Possibly the location of the game?

What does The Elder Scrolls VI teaser trailer tell us?

The next game in the Elder Scrolls series was announced during Bethesda’s E3 2018 press conference last week. Called The Elder Scrolls VI, the game is already in pre-production, but Bethesda isn’t telling you anymore than that.

In fact, all we got at E3, when it comes to The Elder Scrolls VI, is a very short teaser trailer — yep, just 36 seconds long — that basically shows nothing but the camera coming out of cloud cover and then zooming over a vast landscape with a castle and an ocean in the distance, and  with dramatic Dovahkiin music playing as it does.

No release date. No storyline. No characters. No…nothing.

So is there anything an Elder Scrolls fan can deduce from the trailer? Or are we going to have to wait the two to four years it is likely to be before The Elder Scrolls VI actually releases to find anything out?

First, it seems to be pretty obvious The Elder Scrolls VI will not be releasing in 2019. Why? Because Bethesda also announced that their new single-player game Starfield will be the first game off the starting block, and that is likely to be releasing in 2019 or early 2020.

That fact alone makes it extremely unlikely they would release two Triple A titles in the same year. Leaving The Elder Scrolls VI as not releasing until at least late 2020 or 2021. In other words, plenty of time to replay Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim. Several times.

Bethesda, of course, knows exactly when The Elder Scrolls VI will be releasing, at least according to the studio’s Todd Howard. They are just not giving us that information yet. After all, the game is only in pre-production, so a lot of things could change.

Secondly, there is one thing you can deduce from the teaser trailer itself.

The game is going to take place on a pretty barren landscape with huge mountain peaks and a coastline in the difference. And that could mean, if Bethesda goes with locations we are already familiar with, The Elder Scrolls VI will likely take place in Highrock or Hammerfell.

As for my prediction? I am guessing it is probably going to be based in Highrock, because Highrock is the place with both the enormous mountain peaks and the extensive coastline.
