When the Phone Rings Ep 6 grabs highest ratings yet, setting K-drama up perfectly for 2nd half

With three Korean dramas taking the night off last night due to the political situation in South Korea, it was nice to see When the Phone Rings not only airing but also grabbing its highest ratings yet.

According to data via Nielsen Korea, When the Phone Rings, Episode 6 earned 6.9 percent nationwide, which is a full percentage point higher than its previous episode.

The same occurred in Seoul, where When the Phone Rings, Episode 6 garnered 6.4 percent of the viewership — a very nice increase of 1.10 percent versus Episode 5.

That means the Korean thriller is now heading into its second half already set up for increasing ratings as the plot’s intrigue and excitement ramps up even further.

You also know it is one of the best of the season as even the often-disgruntled folks that use My Drama List are currently giving it an astoundingly high rating of 8.9 out of 10 (high for users of that site).

Of course, the excellent main cast of Yoo Yeon SeokChae Soo Bin, Heo Nam Joon, and Jang Gyu Ri, and the superb scripts from screenwriter Kim Jin Woong (Doctor John), have a lot to do with the MBC drama’s success.
