Which awesome Xbox One games did you miss this month?
Do you feel like you haven’t checked out as many games for Xbox One in May, 2017 as you should have done? Are there games you knew were coming out, but then you just didn’t have time to give them a try?
If this list of eight awesome Xbox One games put together by Lydia from Xbox On has any of the games on it you did mean to look at, then you really did miss some amazing games. And you might want to remedy that mistake now.
Games like Outlast 2 from Red Barrels Studio, which is even more scary than the original horror game. This one has you playing a journalist who is involved in a helicopter crash and then stranded in a deserted village populated by a cult that believes the End of Days is about to happen. And yep, it’s downhill from there.
Dodge Roll’s Enter The Gungeon is a low-budget shooter in which you pick a character with its own special abilities, man up with some of the more than 200 different weapons you’ll find as you go through the game, do your best to dodge gunfire and a whole host of baddies, and then kill the boss at the end of each level to get to the next one.
Cities Skylines has been one of the most popular city builders in the last couple of years, and it’s now available on Xbox One. Basically a 21st century version of the original SimCity, Cities Skylines has you building your own city from scratch — laying down infrastructure, building houses and shop, utility plants and schools, police stations and factories — while trying to juggle everything city administration requires and not run out of money.
Another of the awesome Xbox One games you might have missed in May, Tribute Games’ Flinthook is a roguelike game that requires you to use a grappling hook to get around. In the game, you play a space pirate called Captain Flinthook, who goes from pirate ship to pirate ship grabbing loot and working on challenges. If you die, you get to start that chapter all over again.
Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap is a remake of the classic 1989 game, and what’s really cool about this game is you can either play it as it is now, with the gorgeous graphics and fluid animations, or switch it back to how it looked in 1989 and play it that way as well. The switching happens at the tap of a button so, you can play the game in each mode whenever you like. It switches that fast
Another awesome Xbox One game released in May, World to the West is an action adventure game in which you play one of a variety of characters, depending on which skills you need to solve which puzzle or to avoid which trap. The graphics in this game are beautiful, the gameplay is challenging and the writing is funny.
The Sexy Brutale is a puzzle game that has a preacher who wakes up in a house where a party is going on. The problem is, it’s a party where everyone is being murdered. Then along comes a creepy girl who gives him a time watch and tells him he must stop every other character at the party from dying. You must then go back in time, and keep replaying the events that led up to each character’s murder, until you figure out how to stop it from happening.
Finally, Aaero is a rhythm game that revolves around EDM and dubstep music, and it’s very entertaining. The goal is to fly your spaceship while keeping in time with the rhythm of the music, and dodging obstacles and enemies that try to shoot you down.
These are just eight of the awesome Xbox One games you may have missed so far this month. Watch the video from Xbox On’s Lydia below to find out more about each one.
