Since Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond left the popular show last year, fans have been worried about if and when the show would return and who the new presenters would be. After all, no matter who the BBC chose, chances are they would not be as liked as the classic team.
Today, after announcing last week that American actor Matt LeBlanc would join Chris Evans and be part of the presenter line up for the new show, the BBC have finally released the entire Top Gear 2016 presenter list.
It includes the aforementioned Matt LeBlanc and Chris Evans, motor journalist Chris Harris and TV presenter Rory Reid, racing driver Sabine Schmitz, and Formula 1 commentator Eddie Jordan.
Sabine Schmitz, of course, will be the first female presenter on the show for over a decade and a half, and Rory Reid is the only person to get through the much heralded open audition process. The new Top Gear series will return in May.
Personally, I can’t comment on the BBC’s choice of Top Gear 2016 presenters as you really have to see them in action to see if they will be a winning team. So far, though, I will say it looks interesting. How about you?
