In yet another postponement of a Korean drama (don’t you get just as tired of these constant postponements as I do?), the production team of the massively popular SBS drama has announced Love Scout, Episode 9 will not air on Friday, January 31st.
Instead, a “special” Love Scout program (read, likely to be a compilation of scenes you have already watched) will air, with Episode 9 then airing on Saturday, February 1st instead.
Why is Love Scout, Episode 9 postponed?
The reason for having yet another postponement of a Korean drama?
It is Chinese New Year (Lunar New Year in Korea or Seollal), which means many Koreans will be celebrating the holiday with family and friends and not watching TV.
That also means the production team is afraid Love Scout, Episode 9 would see a huge drop in ratings if it was to air on Friday as planned.
Therefore, a bump to Saturday, which is still in the middle of the Lunar New Year holiday, apparently makes sense to them. (I presume they believe it will only be one episodes of Love Scout that sees a big ratings drop this weekend, and not potentially two?)
In other words, just one episode of Love Scout will air this coming weekend, with the Korean drama’s series finale now also pushed from February 8th to February 14th.
And yes, I have started watching more Chinese dramas than Korean nowadays. After all, the Chinese release several episodes on the first day a C-drama drops, and then release the rest of a 40-episode series over just three or four weeks time.
Or, I wait until an entire K-drama has been released. And then I binge-watch it.
How about you?
Love Scout stars Han Ji Min and Lee Joon Hyuk. Tune in for its next episode this coming Saturday at its usual time in South Korea, and via Viki internationally.
