During my usual hours and hours of trolling YouTube for videos every day, I come across some of the coolest, weirdest and most interesting things. But yesterday, I rediscovered a video I’d forgotten about.
One shot in Nuremberg, Germany in 2010 when singer Pink had an accident during her concert and fell off a stage. And when I re-watched the video, the only thing I could think was “Pink is tougher than you will ever be”.
That’s because, partway through the concert, she didn’t manage to get clipped into a harness properly and got dragged off the stage slamming into a barrier on her way down and with a hell of a bang.
Her response? Lots of “mother**cking that hurt”, but, as far as I could see, not a single tear.
If that had been me, I would have been in floods.
On top of that, not only did Pink not cry, she apologized to fans profusely for almost landing on top of them, had a conversation with them while stagehands were trying to get her out of the harness, and even managed to get to her feet and walk off stage.
Then she was hauled off to hospital where, after x-rays and other tests, she was found to be just badly bruised.
But, before she went, she showed back up on stage to prove to fans that she was fine. And to say “Thank you for coming”, and to apologize for not being able to sing the last song.
For me, my obsession with Pink just grows every day. But when I see things like this I admire her even more.
Not that there’s anything wrong with crying but, God, that must have hurt.
