The Wistoria: Wand and Sword English dub cast was announced earlier today, along with the first episode premiere date — Sunday, July 21st.
As you might expect with an anime this popular, and with its Japanese version featuring a star-studded voice cast, the Wistoria: Wand and Sword English dub cast features some of the industry’s heavy hitters as well.
Voice actors you will have heard in many other English dubs over the years.
Those voice actors are:
Corey Wilder who is voicing protagonist Will
Kelsey Cruz as Elfaria
Jim Foronda who is voicing Workner
Brandon Acosta who plays Sion
Phil Parsons as Edward
Corey Pettit voicing Colette
Michael Stimac as Gordon
Lynsey Hale voicing Kiki
Tristan Bonner playing Lyril
Ray Hurd as Sentinel
Amanda Gael who is playing Young Will
Shannon Emerick as the Narrator
As for the English dub cast, the anime is being voice directed by Jeremy Inman (Golden Kamuy), with Jessica Sluys (Blue Reflection Ray) in charge of the adaptation into English, and Samantha Herek (assistant producer The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie) producing.
The Japanese original premiered on July 7th and, so far, is receiving solid ratings from its international viewers.
The school-themed action, adventure fantasy anime is based on the manga series by Fujino Omori and Toshi Aoi.
It is being published in English via Kodansha USA, with seven volumes out and Volume 8 due in August.
The publisher has this to say about its plot:
Will Serfort dreams of keeping his promise to a childhood friend by becoming a Magia Vander, one of the mighty magicians who sit atop the Wizard’s Tower. However, he is unable to cast even the simplest of spells, leaving him to fight dungeon monsters to earn credits at Regarden Magical Academy.
As if that weren’t enough, he finds himself putting his sword skills to the test against a bullying professor!
The fantasy anime’s Japanese language original is directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara (Black Clover), who is also providing scripts and series composition.
Sayaka Ono (Bastard‼ Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy) is designing the characters, and acting as chief animation director.
Anime production is being carried out by Actas and Bandai Namco Pictures.
Mark your calendars for July 21st when the first episode of the Wistoria: Wand and Sword English dub will premiere.
