Yomotsuhegui: Scions of the Underworld cover art promises gorgeous manga when it arrives in English next year

The upcoming supernatural horror series Yomotsuhegui: Scions of the Underworld manga series is likely to be one of my “must buys” simply because I don’t think I have seen such gorgeously disturbing artwork on the cover of a manga in a while. (See above)

The license for the English language translation of the Yomotsuhegui: Scions of the Underworld manga series has just been announced to have been acquired by Seven Seas Entertainment.

It will still be February 2024 before we can get our hands on it unfortunately.

The action-packed manga series is written and illustrated by Masasumi Kakizaki.

Seven Seas describes its plot like this:

Nawa Kanetsugu used to be a police officer, until his wife and child were murdered and he sought revenge by any means necessary. In a new quest for vengeance after he’s released from prison, he discovers that a mortal wound won’t kill him.

A confrontation with a mysterious girl shows Nawa that he has eaten the fruit of Yomotsuhegui, the tree in the realm of the dead, and now he’s an immortal with monstrous powers.

The girl is a god of death who wants his help to fight other dangerous immortals, since there may still be a seed of justice in his heart. Will Nawa find his humanity again in saving others from supernatural evil, or will these ghastly powers turn him into a monster?

Yep, Yomotsuhegui: Scions of the Underworld sounds exciting too.

Yomotsuhegui: Scions of the Underworld Volume 1 is scheduled to be published in English via Seven Seas in February 2024.

At that time, it will be available in both paperback and digital editions.
