A Good Day to Be a Dog Ep 12 ratings rise as international viewers feel more negative

After falling in the ratings last week to the drama’s lowest rating yet (1.5 percent), the Korean drama A Good Day to Be a Dog, Episode 12 aired earlier tonight to a ratings rise.

Last week’s ratings drop occurred due to the drama airing opposite the first episode of the new ENA drama Like Flowers in Sand.

This week, however, that drama does not seem to have been able to negatively affect the rating of A Good Day to Be a Dog as, while Like Flowers in Sand‘s rating rose tonight, so did that of A Good Day to Be a Dog.

According to Nielsen Korea, Episode 12 of A Good Day to Be a Dog earned 1.8 percent of the audience share, with just two episodes of the MBC drama left to air.

Those final two episodes will air on MBC on January 3rd and January 10th, 2024, as well as stream via Viki for international audiences.

International audiences loyal to A Good Day to Be a Dog but still have negative feelings about Episode 12

With many international viewers remaining loyal to the Korean drama, at least if ratings on My Drama List (a strong 8.2 out of 10) and on Viki (9.5 out of 10) are anything to go by, there have still been increasingly negative comments appearing about the K-drama in the last couple of weeks.

Those comments have increased after Episode 12 aired tonight, and tend to be about one of two things.

Either asking why screenwriter Baek In Ah drastically changed the original story from the webtoon the drama is based on, with viewers believing the original plot was better, or comments about how the plot has begun to drag.

Some feel Episode 12 of the K-drama has been the worst and most dragged-out episode yet.

Then again, considering A Good Day to Be a Dog premiered on October 11th and, even though it is a once-weekly drama, still had several episodes postponed so that its final episode will air later than planned, it is surprising the comments are not more negative than they have been.

With just two episodes to go, though, even if some international viewers are grumbling about dropping it, it still appears most international fans will likely stick with the drama through to its end.

A Good Day to Be a Dog stars Park Gyu Young, Cha Eun Woo, and Lee Hyun Woo, with Episode 12 now streaming for international viewers via Viki.
