The just released KONOSUBA: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! trailer introduces Megumin, Queen of Explosions, before she met Kazuma, Aqua and Darkness.
And, boy, does this spin-off anime look like it will be on fire. (Sorry, couldn’t resist!)
The new KONOSUBA: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! trailer introduces Megumin before she left home and headed out in the world to use her one-spell-a-day magic to make a party of adventurers’ lives better (or worse!).
The new trailer has Megumin telling her parents she is going to school to study.
Something they and her younger sister are thrilled about. Until she tells them it’s because she wants to become an explosion magician.
Even at school, Megumin is never truly accepted with fellow students calling her magic “joke magic”, and one in particular, Megumin’s self-professed “rival” Yunyun , telling her she is an idiot.
Of course, as her magic becomes more powerful, and as she meets people who support her, Megumin becomes more confident and more skilled.
Until she gains the immense explosion magic power she has always wanted.
The KONOSUBA: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! (aka この素晴らしい世界に爆焔を or Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Bakuen wo! in Japan) anime is a spin-off and a prequel of the original KONOSUBA anime series.
It is based on the light novels by Natsume Akatsuki and Masahito Watari, and is being chief directed by KONOSUBA director Takaomi Kanasaki who is overseeing director Yujiro Abe (episode director for Super Cub).
Yujiro Abe is also directing the upcoming third season of KONOSUBA, so he is definitely getting his experience in with An Explosion on This Wonderful World! while he can, eh?
KONOSUBA‘s scriptwriter Makoto Uezu is also handling scripts for this, with original KONOSUBA series’ Koichi Kikuta back as character designer.
The anime stars Rie Takahashi as Megumin, and Aki Toyosaki as Yunyun.
Watch the latest KONOSUBA: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! trailer as it shows Megumin’s struggle to become an explosion magician.
It is ridiculously cute and funny.
The first episode of KONOSUBA: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! itself premieres early in the morning of April 6th in Japan.
