On October 10th, 2024, we are looking back to four years ago as the anime world welcomed the return of the charming, coffee-loving cast of Is the Order a Rabbit? with its third season, titled Gochuumon wa Usagi desu ka? Bloom (aka Is the Order a Rabbit? Bloom).

This delightful addition to the series continued to captivate audiences with its slice-of-life humor, heartwarming moments, adorable girls and, of course, an abundance of delicious coffee and sweets.

Director: Hiroyuki Hashimoto (Slow Start) returned to helm this season.

Hashimoto again brought his signature touch of warmth and humor to the series, ensuring that the light-hearted, everyday adventures of these utterly sweet characters continued to resonate with viewers.

Scripts: Kazuyuki Fudeyasu and Mio Inoue crafted the scripts, maintaining the series’ light tone while deepening character personalities and relationships.

Character Design: Yousuke Okuda was back with those beautiful character designs that kept the visual charm intact, and with each character’s distinct look reflecting their personality, from the ever-cheerful Cocoa to the all-thing-military obsessed Rize.

Voice Cast: The massively-loved characters also returned with their original voice actors:

  • Rize Tedeza – Risa Taneda
  • Cocoa Hoto – Ayane Sakura
  • Chino Kafuu – Inori Minase
  • Chiya Ujimatsu – Satomi Satou
  • Syaro Kirima – Maaya Uchida
  • Maya Joga – Sora Tokui

Like the previous two seasons, Is the Order a Rabbit? Bloom was one of Fall, 2020 season’s most watched anime series, with almost 67,000 people on My Anime List alone marking it as watched.

The slice-of-life anime also earned a solid average of 7.92 out of 10 on the same site, and with more than 64% of those who watched it rating it an 8, 9 or 10.

Comments about the series were also overwhelmingly positive, with anime fan’s saying things like:

This is one of the most pleasant anime series I’ve ever seen; the characters are personable, and the environment is grand and lovely to the point of being captivating.

If you liked the other seasons, this is the best one yet. The cute fluffiness is ramped to the max in this third season. The colors are vibrant, the stories are engaging, and the characters are as loveable as ever.

Watching each episode, I had this uncontrollably involuntary silly grin fixed on my face. Honestly ended every episode with manly tears.

Every episode of Is the Order a Rabbit? Bloom has since been released on Blu-ray, with Sentai Filmworks describing the anime’s plot like this:

Chino, Megumi and Maya have nearly finished middle school! That’s scary, because they have to decide on which high school to attend and may not end up going to the same place.

It’s also exciting, though, because change and making new friends is part of growing up.

Fortunately, they’ll have Cocoa, Rize, and the rest of the Rabbit House gang to advise and help them… and, better yet, the older girls will be coming up with lots of new adventures and other kinds of fun as everyone takes one more hop along the bunny trail.

And there we have it — a reminder of the wondrousness that is Is the Order a Rabbit? Bloom for Today in Anime History, October 10th, 2020.

You can buy the entire 12-episode season on Blu-ray at Sentai Filmworks, as it has just been re-released for a third time.
