Wang Qian Yuan and Jiang Xin’s Game of Shadows filming begins – booting ceremony photos, poster, character visuals drop
It has been a busy week for Chinese actress Jiang Xin.
Not only did she just finish filming her thriller Light the Dark earlier in the week, she has immediately moved on to begin filming the action thriller Game of Shadows (aka Mo Lu or斗局) today.
Jiang Xin (Romance in the Alley) has started filming Game of Shadows along with co-star Wang Qian Yuan (The Justice), with booting photographs of the main cast released for the C-drama earlier today.
Along with the photographs, which came out on iQIYI’s Weibo account, iQIYI also commented about the drama’s plot:
A web of lies conceals a shocking drug empire.
Heroes rise—risking everything to defend justice.
They then listed the main and supporting cast members, and its guest stars. (see below)
And yes, Game of Shadows has a big cast as, along with its supporting and main cast, we are also getting a large guest star cast.
Game of Shadows production details
The Chinese action thriller is being directed by Niu Chao (Love Endures).
Its cast features co-leads Yuan Wen Kang (Battle of Shangganling) and Zhang Ke Ying (Prosecution Elite), along with the C-drama’s supporting cast Li Qing (Six Sisters), Wang Shan Shu (Sword and Fairy), Su Jing Yuan (Unnatural Fire), Xiang Bi Ying, Wang Yan Hao (You In Me), Han Shuo (Playing Go), Huang Shuo Wen (We Go Fast on Trust), and Wang Ruo Shan (The Land of Warriors).
That includes Liu Xiao Hai (A Life for a Life), Zhang Zhi Zhong (A League of Nobleman), Liu Pei Qi (Heroes), Shi Zhao Qi (The Secret Path), Zheng Xiao Ning (We Are Criminal Police), Guo Hao Lun (Wings of the Nation), Gu Zhi Xin (In The Spring), Chu Shuan Zhong (Northward), Li Meng Nan (Dark Night and Dawn), Jiang Meng Jie (A Love Never Lost), and Li Jun Xian (Joy of Life Season 2).
As for the Game of Shadows plot, it sounds like it could be a pretty gripping drama for crime fanatics as it goes like this:
Two lives lost unexpectedly unravel a three-year-old unresolved drug case. Under immense pressure, narcotics officer Guan Tianhang (played by Wang Qian Yuan) reopens the investigation.
As the fog clears, a shocking truth emerges—his opponent turns out to be none other than his long-lost childhood friend, Yuan Yuexin (Jiang Xin).
Their reunion marks the start of a confrontation: once close, now on opposite sides of justice. With one standing for righteousness and the other drifting into darkness, a fierce battle between good and evil unfolds.
Will Guan Tianhang be able to overcome obstacles, brings the true culprit to justice, and defend what is right?
The new Game of Shadows poster that dropped also came with a comment about the Chinese drama’s plot:
A bizarre murder leads to a huge drug trafficking network. The battle between good and evil affects the game of human nature.
Open and covert battles kick off, thus causing a peak game.
Finally, the character visuals for the two main characters — Guan Tianhang (played by Wang Qian Yuan) and Yuan Yuexin (Jiang Xin) — were also dropped.
Enjoy those (below), as well as all the photos above.
We will update you here at Leo Sigh as more information is released about the upcoming iQIYI drama, which should finish its filming some time around mid to late September.
