From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman 2 in production a delighted voice actor Hiroaki Hirata announces

One of my surprisingly favorite anime of the Spring, 2025 season is the fantasy anime From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman.

Sure, partially because of the slew of cute girls, and the fun always entertaining plot, but mostly for Beryl.

The master swordsman himself who, despite all the evidence to the contrary, still continues to believe he is nothing special.

And someone who was a nice change from the overpowered and often annoying protagonists we usually get.

To then see us get the promise of a From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman, Season 2 right after the final episode of Season 1 ended today just made my pleasure that much bigger.

The From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman, Season 2 was announced via the anime’s English language X account, along with the comment that it is already in production and scheduled to drop in 2026.

A Season 2 announcement teaser trailer also dropped.

And, if that wasn’t enough, a completely delighted looking Hiroaki Hirata, the voice actor who plays protagonist Beryl Gardenant in the anime, is also featured in a video short announcing Season 2.

And yeah, I loved this one so much, I think I’m as happy as him.

From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman, Season 2 production details

As it stands right now, no details about the production of the anime’s second season have been released.

It’s first season was directed by Akio Kazumi (Loner Life in Another World), with Kunihiko Okada (The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy) providing the series composition, and Satsuki Hayasaki (The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy) as both chief animation director and character designer.

Both Hayabusa Film and studio Passione animated the series, and did a lovely job, I might add.

Fingers crossed then that all of the above are involved in the second season as, just like experience has often shown us, consistency usually provides us with better subsequent anime seasons than not.

We will keep you posted here at Leo Sigh as more information about Season 2 of the From Old Country Bumpkin… anime is announced.

And, if you haven’t yet started watching it but love a comfy anime, all 12 episodes of its first season are streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
