Law and the City Ep 3 earns LOWEST ratings yet – but it’s not all bad news
The latest tvN Saturday Sunday drama Law and the City, Episode 3 aired last night, but one that earned the K-drama’s lowest ratings to date.
Data via Nielsen Korea shows Law and the City, Episode 3 garnering 4.41 percent nationwide, which is markedly down from last Sunday’s 5.12 percent.
The drama also saw similar audience share results in Seoul, where it earned 4.56 percent — down from Episode 2’s viewership of 5.07 percent.
But, while I hope those ratings shoot back up as the K-drama itself is excellent, it was not all bad news for the latest episode of Law and the City last night.
After all, the tvN drama was in the #1 spot in its time slot across all channels — cable TV channels and public broadcasters.
That bodes well for its recovery later on tonight then.
International ratings for Law and the City
Interestingly, Law and the City has still not picked up in the ratings on My Drama List (MDL) after debuting with a low 7.6 out of 10 last week, and still stuck on just 7.7 that today.
Comments, though, are overwhelmingly positive with most loving the law-themed K-drama. They range from:
Lee Jong Suk and Moon Ga Young Finally picked a good script, although I can be biased cause I like Lee Jong Suk and somewhat liked all his dramas
to
The building owner doesn’t feel like a villain, but she played a record player in her office… I feel like they only show villains doing that. 😅
So, I’ll remain somewhat suspicious for now.
The YKS (Yoon Kyun Sang) cameo was so adorable, and this was another cozy episode. (And I’ve always thought the actress playing AJH’s (An Ju Hyeong) ex had pretty eyes.)
and
Fantastic 3 episodes.
The characters make sense, they act their age & profession, have their own goals and romance at this point seems secondary.
Drama has a high level of maturity.
Cases are good and interesting.
End of episode 3, we got a scumbag husband trying to shaft his wife. Looking forward to how the ML deals with this.
And yep, I am in agreement, and still confused as to why the Korean drama is still being rated so low (via almost 1,000 people rating so far) as, with the script and lead performances, it is one of the better K-dramas this year so far.
Especially as, over on Viki where it is streaming internationally, it is currently rated a high (and much more deserving) 9.4 out of 10.
Law and the City stars Lee Jong Suk, Moon Ga Young, Kang You Seok, Ryu Hye Young, and Im Seong Jae.
Episode 4 airs later on tonight via tvN in South Korea, and on Viki internationally.
Update: And yep, Law and the City, Episode 4 just grabbed the Korean drama’s highest ratings yet. Told ya!
