The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch gets trailer, visual and cast as anime announced

Yosuke Kaneda’s manga The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch is getting an anime adaptation.

The adaptation was announced on the anime’s X account, along with a cute visual of aspiring sorceress Spica Virgo and Claude Sirius, the strange black cat she befriends.

The visual was released along with the comment:

“I want to become a magician who can protect everyone”.

A clumsy witch and an elite cat in a magical academy fantasy anime begins.

A first trailer was also dropped (watch below), along with the anime’s main cast and staff announced.

The school-themed fantasy manga’s anime adaptation is being directed by Naomasa Tatsuwa (Dakaichi -I’m being harassed by the sexiest man of the year), with Midori Gotou (Mr. Villain’s Day Off) in charge of series composition, and Takayuki Onoda (Hortensia Saga) designing the characters.

LIDEN Films (Eternal Boys) is animating the series.

The first volume of the hit fantasy manga the anime is based on describes its plot like this:

Spica Virgo can’t use magic. To enroll in the magic school she admires, she needs a mentor—but she has no money or connections.

Then, a mysterious black cat appears before her—one that speaks human language and wields magic!

Spica, who wants to learn sorcery, and the black cat, who wants to break a curse, find their goals perfectly aligned. A secret master-disciple relationship is formed!
