Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, Ep 2 sees BIG ratings increase as Twelve’s ratings COLLAPSE

Bon Appétit, Your Majesty demolishes Twelve‘s ratings

Episode 2 of the recently-released Korean drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty aired in South Korea last night to a big increase in its ratings.

Data via Nielsen Korea shows Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, Episode 2 grabbed 6.64 percent of the nationwide viewership versus the already strong 4.85 percent rating for its first episode on Saturday night.

The new tvN drama garnered 6.50 percent from Seoul viewers for its second episode compared to the solid 5.10 percent it earned for Episode 1.

Its ratings also surpassed those of Twelve, the KBS2 drama that also premiered on Saturday night to 8.1 percent of the nationwide ratings and then plummeted to 5.9 percent for its second episode.

Twelve‘s ratings plummet after Episode 2

Twelve, of course, premiered on Saturday night to ratings that saw it the most-watched mini series of the night, only to see its rating drop massively for its second episode.

As I mentioned, Twelve‘s nationwide rating dropped from Saturday’s 8.1 to Sunday’s 5.9 percent, while in Seoul its audience share fell from 7.2 percent to 5.3 percent.

A fall that is not surprising if you have read any international comments about the first episode of Twelve, however, as most viewers were commenting how “underwhelming” or “boring” the first episode was, and how its stellar cast was wasted on its script.

A script written by the drama’s star Ma Dong Seok himself, I might add.

So much so, the already low 7.2 out of 10 the Ma Dong Seok led drama had earned on My Drama List after Episode 1 has now fallen to a 7.1, while on IMDB it’s initial 9.4 out of 10 has dropped to 8.6 percent so far.

We’ll see how both Korean drama’s perform next Saturday, when their third episodes premiere but, unless Twelve‘s script improves massively (and it very well could), it appears Bon Appétit, Your Majesty’s ratings will only continue to rise while Twelve‘s continue to fall.

We will keep you posted here on Leo Sigh.
