Tian Xi Wei’s Wu Zhen exceeds 50 million character popularity points as Moonlit Reunion heads towards series finale

It’s less than a week since Moonlit Reunion female lead Wu Zhen, played by Tian Xi Wei, earned 10 million character popularity points and, in that week, the Chinese drama’s cat girl has become so popular she has now climbed past 50 million character popularity points.

The announcement of Wu Zhen’s rapid increase in popularity was made on Tencent Video’s Weibo account this morning with a cute new visual (above), and a message:

Congratulations to Tian Xi Wei (@田曦薇 — her Weibo account) for surpassing 50 million character popularity points on Tencent Video!

Moonlit Reunion itself is heading towards its series finale tomorrow.

Well, unless you are watching the Chinese drama in the U.S. via Disney+, who is weeks behind Tencent Video when it comes to releasing new episodes.

In which case, you may be watching it on one of the lesser-than-legal sites like many of us have been.

And, while the drama has been successful in China in that it has been one of the hot topics on sites like Weibo and RedNote, that doesn’t necessarily mean it has been particularly well liked.

Especially as criticism of its writing has been prevalent across just about all Chinese platforms.

Comments have improved, though, since the very slow first half of Moonlit Reunion ended, and events sped up quite a bit for its second.

Meanwhile, Moonlit Reunion‘s ratings internationally are still mixed with the Chinese drama still only earning a low-ish 7.9 out of 10 on My Drama List, while users of IMDB are rating it a much higher 8.7 out of 10.

In other words, the drama seems to be one of those that it either ticks all the boxes of exactly what you like, or is quite lacking.

Look out for the final episodes of Moonlit Reunion to drop tomorrow on Tencent Video, and on WeTV in some regions, with all first available via the platform’s Express program.
