Wild Ambition Bloom exceeds 6500 on YOUKU heat index two days into its 38-episode run

The historical business-themed C-drama Wild Ambition Bloom (aka 灼灼韶华) premiered on September 11th and has already exceeded 6500 on YOUKU’s heat index. (An in-depth explanation of how YOUKU’s heat index generally works is here).

That milestone arrived only a few hours after the Chinese drama passed 6000 on the index, with very pretty posters released for each level to celebrate. (see above and below)

When Wild Ambition Bloom exceeded 6500, YOUKU also released the celebratory poster and reminded viewers about its plot:

#Wild Ambition Bloom Surpasses 6500 Hotness Index#

“Wild Ambition Bloom” has exceeded a hotness index of 6500!

Chu Shao Hua (played by Rayzha Alimjan) and Chen Da Shun (played by Tang Zeng) strive side by side in pursuit of a better life, moving steadily toward their goals!

Now, I have only watched the first episode of Wild Ambition Bloom so far, so it’s a little bit early for me to say whether I recommend you should watch it or not.

But.. that first episode is nicely written, female lead Chu Shao Hua (played by Rayzha Alimjan) is already proving how strong and smart she is, there is a plethora of superb male actors in the cast, the cinematography is beautiful and the OST is excellent right from its opening theme.

Wild Ambition Bloom drops stills of Rayzha Alimjan, Mao Zi Jun, Tony Yang and others

It’s also a very nice change from the eternal wuxia dramas dropping in China.

Tentatively then, yep, thumbs up so far.

If you are interested, the first five episodes are now streaming for VIP subscribers on YOUKU, with Episode 6 also out for those willing to pay for TVOD. Not me. Obviously.
