Queen Mantis, Ep 7 earns 2nd-lowest rating of its run as K-drama heads into series finale
With ratings for Korean dramas seeming to drop lately, it’s maybe not surprising that SBS TV’s Queen Mantis aired its penultimate episode last night to its second lowest nationwide and Seoul ratings of its run.
According to Nielsen Korea, with just one episode left to air, Queen Mantis, Episode 7 earned 6.3 percent of the audience share on Friday night.
That rating was slightly up from the all-time low of 6.0 percent the K-drama earned for Episode 6, but is still a far cry from the 7.5 percent Queen Mantis garnered for Episode 4 back on September 13th.
In Seoul, Queen Mantis, Episode 7 performed slightly better, grabbing 6.5 percent of the viewership, but that is still a full percentage point below the personal high of 7.5 percent the Korean drama earned in that region for Episode 4.
A shame, as the drama has been exceptionally well-acted and written right from Episode 1, and deserved a larger audience going into its final episode, which kicks off at 21:50 (KST) in South Korea tonight.
Even international audiences aren’t complaining about the writing or the performances, just that the members of the police team are so distinctly unlikeable.
Queen Mantis stars Go Hyun Jung and Jang Dong Yoon, and is based on the French thriller La Mante, which streamed on Netflix back in 2017.
