Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End production details

The Frieren anime series is based on the smash-hit manga written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe.

The series currently has over 30 million copies in circulation so, yep, big success!

Unlike Season 1, which was directed by Keiichirou Saitou, Season 2 of the anime is being directed by Season 1’s Episode Director Tomoya Kitagawa, with Keiichirou Saitou as Assistant Director.

Tomohiro Suzuki (One-Punch Man) is back in charge of series composition.

With the 28-episode of the first season of the anime ending right at the beginning of Volume 7 of the manga (Chapter 60), and with 14 volumes out so far, plus nine more chapters that are not in a manga volume yet, there is a lot more material still to cover. Yay!

Look out for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Season 2 premiering its first episode on January 16th, 2026.

Like Season 1, you can expect to see it on Crunchyroll.
