Xing Jing Shi Ke 1: Feng Hua Zheng Mao also proves yet again that Bai Jing Ting, recently known for his hit sci-fi crime drama Mobius, seems to now be leaning more towards dramas with some meat rather than the same tired historical romance dramas he was starting to become known for more recently.

What with the the 31-year-old actor recently starring in crime dramas like Mobius, Justifiable Defense, Always on the Move, and now Xing Jing Shi Ke 1: Feng Hua Zheng Mao, those of us who also prefer a drama with some substance can rejoice, eh?

It sounds fascinating because it looks at the beginnings of modern criminal investigation in China, with a plot that sounds like this:

Set against the backdrop of the numerous serious crimes with dire social impacts solved by Chinese police in the 1990s, the film tells the story of the police’s breakthroughs and innovations in criminal investigation, criminal investigation technology, forensics, and other areas.

It celebrates the police’s youthful passion for combating criminal offenses, their constant reflection on the meaning of the police profession, and their unwavering pursuit of justice and truth.
