Vibrant ‘Witch Hat Atelier’ visual featuring Coco and Qifrey drops at New York Comic Con 2025
A new Witch Hat Atelier key visual has been released via the anime’s official X account, and at New York Comic Con 2025, with the account calling the latest illustration a ‘Welcome Visual’.
The latest beautifully drawn and quite vibrant Witch Hat Atelier visual features the anime’s protagonists — child witch Coco and her witch mentor Qifrey — and came with a message saying:
Magic, it is the miracle that colors the world.
The anime itself, of course, was recently announced as being delayed until some time in 2026. Even though it has already been in production for three years.
But that didn’t stop the anime being nicely represented at New York Comic Con this week.
Witch Hat Atelier anime production information
The upcoming anime is based on the manga of the same name written and illustrated by Kamome Shirahama.
The manga currently has 14 volumes out in Japanese, with Kodansha USA publishing it in English.
Its anime adaptation is being directed by Ayumu Watanabe (Summer Time Rendering), with Kairi Unabara (The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife) designing the characters. No-one has yet been named as being in charge of series composition.
BUG FILMS (Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead) is animating the series, so we can likely expect something that is beautifully animated at least.
Crunchyroll will be streaming the anime internationally.
Coco, a girl from a small village, has always dreamed of becoming a witch. However, people who are born without the ability to use magic cannot become witches, and they must not witness the moment a spell is cast… Because of this, she gave up on her dream.
However, one day, she saw a traveling wizard named Qifrey, who was visiting the village, use magic… This is the story of the despair and hope that befall the girl because of it.
