Adventures in Subduing the Demons Ep 4 highlights video released
While I would not say the first episode of the new donghua Adventures in Subduing the Demons (aka Shanhai Fu Mo Lu) started out as one of the best of this season, as each new episode releases, the plot has come together more, the characters are more interesting, and the fluidity of the animation is excellent.
The character models too, which have been cool from the beginning, are increasing in quality as every new character/mythical beast appears.
Because of this, as Episode 4 was released last week, the Chinese animated series has now become one that is attracting a lot more attention from fans.
Some of the reasons why can be seen via the recently released Adventures in Subduing the Demons, Episode 4 highlight trailer.
Jiang Hao and Yue Jing are attacked by a Gu Eagle
The Adventures in Subduing the Demons, Episode 4 highlight video concentrates on that fast-paced action scene where protagonist Jiang Hao and new friend and bunny girl Yue Ying are in the hot air balloon and are suddenly attacked by a mystical creature — a Gu Eagle.
Not only is the eagle determined to knock their balloon out of the sky, it targets the basket they are sitting in as the balloon plummets to the ground.
All with the bird’s goal of eating them once it hits and they die.
During that minute-and-a-half scene, the animation of the bird in flight is incredibly solid. Especially considering it is swooping down to a moving balloon again and again, or circling round it, while the two main characters cower in its basket.
Even when the Gu Eagle manages to side swipe the basket, ripping part of it away, the way that is carried out looks realistic.
No wonder then more and more animation fans seem to be watching the donghua, with its first three episodes having earned over 230,000 views on YouTube alone so far.
Views that would probably have been even higher if Adventures in Subduing the Demons had initially received the publicity it should have done.
Watch the short Adventures in Subduing the Demons, Episode 4 highlight video below, and you’ll see why the Chinese donghua seems to be increasingly grabbing animation fans’ attention.
