Aharen-san wa Hakarenai Season 2 creditless opening and ending animations as quirky as ever

Aharen-san wa Hakarenai, Season 2’s creditless opening and ending animations feature its upbeat and fun OP and ED

With Season 2 of the school-themed rom-com anime Aharen-san wa Hakarenai kicking off yesterday in Japan, it’s not surprising we are already getting the anime’s creditless opening and ending animations.

Those quirky videos were released on the anime’s official YouTube channel on Monday and, of course, feature both the Aharen-san wa Hakarenai, Season 2 opening theme song and ending theme.

Those tracks are Japanese rock band ZUTOMAYO’s ‘Binetsuma as the anime’s OP, and pop singer Shallm’s ‘Twilight for its ED.

And, yep, as you might expect if you loved the first season’s theme songs as much as I did, both songs are catchy and fun.

Although, if I had to pick one, while I think ZUTOMAYO’s ‘Binetsuma‘ is a wonderfully appropriate OP for this light-hearted anime, I would go with the ending theme song, as Shallm’s voice is gorgeous.

Aharen-san wa Hakarenai, Season 2 plot

Along with the Aharen-san wa Hakarenai, Season 2 creditless opening and ending themes, the anime’s YouTube channel also reminded fans about the popularity of the Asato Mizu-written and illustrated manga the anime is based on:

Serialized on “Shonen Jump +” until 2023, total views exceeded 180 million. The total number of published copies sold has also exceeded 1.4 million.

A manga, by the way, that bizarrely has still not received an official English translation. Some day, huh?

Finally, a shout out to the twist in Season 2’s plot as a new character arrived was also mentioned:

Meet Reina Aharen, a petite and quiet girl who struggles a bit with understanding personal boundaries.

Seated next to her is Raido, a boy who always felt there was an invisible distance between them. But one day, when Raido picks up an eraser Aharen drops, their relationship takes a sudden turn—bringing them closer than ever!

As they navigate school life, swinging between “too far” and “too close,” Aharen and Raido eventually start dating.

Now, with the new semester in full swing, a new challenge arises—a transfer student whose boundaries are just as hard to gauge!
