The comedy drama Behind Your Touch, Episode 2 aired last night in South Korea to higher ratings than its first episode.
According to Nielsen Korea, Behind Your Touch, Episode 2 garnered 5.80 percent of the audience, which is an increase from the first episode’s 5.27 percent.
Ratings in Seoul saw a similar increase with Episode 2 earning 6.21 percent, up from Episode 1’s 5.61 percent.
Behind Your Touch and international viewers
According to IMDB, international viewers of Behind Your Touch is currently being rated a very low 6.9 out of 10.
International viewers using My Drama List also seem to concur with the rating with the comedy drama earning a low 7.9 out of 10 after Episode 2, and a very low 5.18 percent by those who have dropped the series.
That being said, with so many people being “offended” nowadays by the most innocuous things (in this case, likely Bong Ye Bun’s ‘butt charge’), it isn’t too surprising the drama is low rated outside South Korea.
Personally, as someone who has only watched Episode 1 of Behind Your Touch (clever title 🙂 ) so far, I have to say the drama is quirky, sweet and funny and, as far as the butt touching goes, I don’t find it “offensive” at all.
Then again, I am not one of the “woke brigade” who seem to spend their lives eternally “offended”.
Behind Your Touch stars the superb cast of Han Ji Min, Lee Min Ki, and Suho and airs on JTBC every Saturday and Sunday at 22:30 (KST), with Netflix airing the series for international viewers soon after.
As just an Episode 1 viewer so far, I recommend it if you love a sweet K-drama with quirky, interesting characters that is truly funny.
