C-drama Spying details – director, cast, plot and streaming information
CHINESE TITLE — Spying — 谍报上不封顶 (aka Die Bao Shang Bu Feng Ding)
PLOT
In 1948, Ren Shao Bai (played by Xiao Zhan), an undercover Communist Party member embedded in the Ministry of National Defense, goes into deep hiding for years after the death of his sole contact. When another underground operative, Qiao Ming Yu, is exposed, Ren Shao Bai takes a great risk by using the Ministry’s radio station, ultimately saving the entire intelligence network.
Later, under the pretext of investigating a military funds embezzlement case, he reconnects with his new handler, Peng Yong Cheng (Gu Zhi Xin), and is reactivated. Once “awakened,” Ren begins rising through the ranks of the Ministry, eventually becoming a trusted aide to the Director of the Intelligence Bureau.
Lan You Yin (Zhou Yu Tong), the widow of Qiao Ming Yu and a brilliant mathematician, secretly plots to assassinate officers of the military police, though her motives remain unclear.
In the course of his covert struggle, Ren repeatedly proves his worth and builds a strong rapport with Peng Yongcheng, though the risk of exposure constantly looms over him.
