‘Coroner’s Diary’ poster celebrates 1 million reservations – Aoi Rui Peng, Landy Li, Yu Cheng En and Shen Yu Jie look happy
A new celebratory poster has just dropped for the upcoming Chinese historical mystery drama Coroner’s Diary, starring Ao Rui Peng, Landy Li, Yu Cheng En and Shen Yu Jie.
The C-drama’s latest poster celebrates Coroner’s Diary exceeding 1 million reservations on iQIYI. A milestone worth celebrating, and with still no idea as to when it will premiere.
The poster is a cute one too, as it features the drama’s four main actors waving their index fingers in the air to illustrate that 1 million reservations count.
A message from iQIYI also accompanied the poster:
Congratulations to #CoronersDiary# — iQiyi’s reservation volume has exceeded 1 million!
The four treasures of Chao Xue work together to unravel the mystery and solve the mad case, let the dead “speak”, and let the truth be known to the world!
Come to iQiyi to make a reservation.
Coroner’s Diary directors and screenwriter
Coroner’s Diary is adapted from the novel “The Powerful and Favored Coroner Imperial Concubine” (权宠之仵作医妃) written by Bu Yue Qian Zhuang (步月浅妆).
It is being co-directed by Li Hui Zhu (Warm on a Cold Night), and Deng Wei En (The Song of Glory), and is written by Love Like the Galaxy screenwriter Zhou Yue.

What is the Coroner’s Diary plot?
Baidu Encyclopedia explains the Coroner’s Diary plot like this:
The Minister of the Court of Judicial Review, Shen Yi (played by Zhao Bin), is implicated in the Prince of Jin’s case, leading to the massacre of most of his family.
His daughter, Shen Wan (played by Landy Li), escapes to Jingzhou by assuming the identity of Qin Wan, the ninth young lady of the Qin household.
Because of this, the originally meek and timid Qin Wan undergoes a “drastic change in temperament”—not only can she now heal the sick and wounded, but she also performs autopsies to solve cases, all while skillfully subduing the domineering aunts, stepsisters, concubines, and unruly servants of the Qin family.
During her investigations, Qin Wan meets Yan Chi (Ao Rui Peng), the heir of Prince Rui.
Yan Chi is determined to overturn the unjust case against the Prince of Jin, so he aligns perfectly with Qin Wan’s goal of clearing her father’s name. The two return to the capital together, while solving a series of bizarre and intricate cases along the way.
Upon their return, the accidental discovery of a skeleton reopens the Prince of Jin’s case.
As Yan Chi and Qin Wan work together, they gradually uncover the truth behind the case, revealing a shocking secret hidden deep within the Imperial Palace.
While nothing has been confirmed, rumors coming out of China have it that Coroner’s Diary is due to premiere on iQIYI in mid-July.
I guess we will see how that pans out, eh?
