Doctor Cha, Ep. 6 skyrockets to HIGHEST ratings yet for medical-themed K-drama

Doctor Cha, Episode 6 audience just grows and grows

As I predicted the minute the first episode of the ongoing medical-themed drama Doctor Cha finished last month, this K-drama was going to be huge.

After all, not only does it have some of the funniest scenes I have seen in a romantic comedy out of Korea, the female lead (the aformentioned Doctor Cha superbly played by Uhm Jung Hwa) is fabulous, while the plot just grabs you right from the first episode and won’t let go.

Throw in the wonderful supporting characters are also played by some of Korea’s most talented actors, and that Cha Jung Sook’s husband is such a perfect villain he deserves a lot more than a serious slap, and Doctor Cha, Episode 6 last night just left me desperate for more.

That sentiment is likely being felt by Doctor Cha‘s Korean audience today as well.

An audience that continues to grow the more episodes of this superb drama are released.

Doctor Cha, Episode 6 ratings increase by 2.3 percent

According to Nielsen Korea, last night’s Doctor Cha, Episode 6 ratings skyrocketed above the medical-themed drama’s ratings for its previous episode both nationwide in Korea and in Seoul.

Nationwide, Doctor Cha, Episode 6 ratings increased from episode five’s 10.85 percent of the audience to last night’s 13.20 percent. That is a 2.3 percent increase from the evening before.

In Seoul, the drama’s ratings also increased from 12.00 percent to 13.31 percent.

Those increases meant Doctor Cha, Episode 6 ended up in first place in the ratings in both regions.

And I, for one, am thrilled.

Doctor Cha, Episode 6 almost THREE TIMES the size of first episode’s

It is when you compare last night’s episode with the ratings from the drama’s first episode, however, that you really see how much this drama is skyrocketing in its ability to grab an audience in just the two week’s since it premiered.

When the first episode of Doctor Cha kicked off on April 15th, the Uhm Jung Hwa-led drama managed to grab 4.93 percent of the nationwide audience, and 5.46 percent in Seoul.

Decent enough ratings sure, but not anything to write home about.

But, since that first episode aired, the drama has only seen its audience increase with every single episode.

Until last night’s Episode 6 earned the drama an audience that is close to THREE TIMES the size of its first.

Doctor Cha stars Uhm Jung-hwa as Cha Jung Sook, along with Kim Byung Chul as her vile husband, and backed up by Myung Se Bin, and Min Woo Hyuk.

The next episode of the medical-themed rom com will air on Saturday, May 6th on JTBC.

The show will then continue airing every Saturday and Sunday at 22:30 (KST) until its scheduled end on June 4th..

International audiences can watch the drama on Netflix.
