First ‘The Epoch of Miyu’ poster drops featuring Wallace Chung and Zhu Zhu
With the first official poster dropping for The Epoch of Miyu earlier today, here’s hoping we are a fair bit closer to the Wallace Chung and Zhu Zhu-led romance drama dropping this year.
Come on, I am always salivating over a Chinese romance with older actors, aren’t you? And this one features two of my favorite actors.
In this case, Wallace Chung is now 50-years-old (although, Ye Gods, that man doesn’t look it!) and Zhu Zhu is 40 so, yep, I’m psyched to get another drama starring people who are closer to my age than the 20-somethings that are, unfortunately, the norm.
The latest The Epoch of Miyu poster has the two of them posing at a desk in the hotel the pair work at, and arrived with a message from iQIYI saying:
#TheEpochOfMiyuPoster#
The calm and composed top manager of Pu Rong Hotel, Ji Feng (played by Wallace Chung — @钟汉良), and Xu Mi Yu (Zhu Zhu – @朱珠ZhuZhu), who has rebounded from the bottom of her life, have joined forces, sparks are flying, and I can’t wait to see how these two people turn the tables in the mystery of business war!
Looking forward to the early broadcast of The Epoch of Miyu!
In other words, its sounding like we may not have to wait too long before the 30-episode romance drama drops.
The Epoch of Miyu production details
The Epoch of Miyu is directed by Wang Ying (Incomparable Beauty), and is written by Wang Qun and Chen Wen Yuan.
It stars Wallace Chung as Purong Hotel manager Ji Feng, Zhu Zhu as Xu Mi Yu, Li Meng as Lu Zhen Zhen and Jing Chao as Nie Yu Cheng.
The drama began filming on January 5, 2025 and ended on April 17th, so it has been in post-production for a couple of months now.
The Epoch of Miyu plot
The drama’s plot is adapted from the novel “Mi Yu Ji” (蜜语纪) by Hong Jiu (红九).
Its story goes like this:
This is a Shanghai-set workplace growth story of mature adults in the hotel industry.
After suffering betrayal in her marriage and leaving with nothing, Xu Mi Yu hits rock bottom—working as a hotel cleaner. But her life takes a turn when she meets star manager Ji Feng.
Facing workplace challenges head-on, she battles Lu Zhen Zhen (Ling Meng) the woman who ruined her marriage, and goes on to reclaim her dignity.
Through setbacks and perseverance, Xu Mi Yu grows against the odds, proving that resilience can rewrite destiny.
No word yet, of course, on when The Epoch of Mi Yu is premiering but we do know it will broadcast on both Tencent Video and iQIYI and, if my guess is correct, will likely drop sometime in the next couple of months.
Fingers crossed.
