All 36 episodes of the fantasy gourmet donghua now have English subtitles
Now, color me annoyed a couple of months ago when the Made by Bilibili Donghua YouTube channel suddenly stopped adding English subtitles to their comedy gourmet anime Mythical Creatures are My Dinners right after Episode 20.
That meant the last 16 episodes of the popular animated series were from then on inaccessible to anyone who doesn’t speak or understand Chinese.
With a large number of western viewers watching Chinese donghua nowadays, that meant many of them.
Thankfully, however, Made by Bilibili has just rectified that sorry state of affairs by uploading all 36 episodes of Mythical Creatures are My Dinners in one full video.
And with English subtitles.
That means, with the donghua’s animated intro and outro removed from each episode, you can now watch Mythical Creatures are My Dinners, Episodes 1 through 36 (ie: Season 1) in 4 hours and 55 minutes — and understand every word that is said.
If you’re traveling, or without Internet access for some other reason, and paying for YouTube Premium you can also download the whole thing and be set for hours.
Watch all 36 episodes of Mythical Creatures are My Dinners then, for free, and with English subtitles down below. Yay!
And, if you just want to watch specific episodes, you can also do that via the timestamp Made by Bilibili has added in the description of the video.

The actually very funny comedy series premiered on Bilibili on June 5th, 2024 and ran for 36 episodes through January 29th, 2025.
It is animated by Delight Animation Studio, and produced by Bilibili.
The Chinese anime’s plot goes something like this:
Mo Bai is a talented but unconventional head disciple of the celestial cultivation sect Tianji Sect.
Unlike his peers, Mo Bai has little interest in cultivation and instead dreams of traveling the world to taste all kinds of exotic delicacies. So that’s what he does.
Along the way, he teams up with Xiao Hei, a monster chef, and Xing Hong, his junior sect sister, to form a culinary squad dedicated to hunting down and cooking mythical creatures.
As they embark on their journey to find rare and delicious monster ingredients, the trio stumbles upon a hidden secret tied to a past conflict between humans and monsters.
Soon, their lighthearted quest for food gradually intertwines with a deeper mystery, blending adventure, humor, and fantasy.
