Akamaru Enomoto’s popular romantic comedy/slice of life I Have a Crush at Work manga is getting an official TV anime.
Along with that announcement earlier today, the upcoming anime got its first teaser visual featuring co-workers Yui Mitsuya and Masugu Tateishi walking down a corridor together, almost touching hands, and looking shyly towards each other. (see below)
The mangaka has also commented about her excitement for the upcoming anime adaptation:
It seems so dreamlike that I am still flustered as to whether it is real.
Once again, I would like to thank everyone who has supported this work. It has been produced with a lot of love, so whether you are a reader of the original or a newcomer, please enjoy it!
I’m looking forward to it too! I’m looking forward to seeing Manao, Yui and the others again!
The anime has also opened its official X account, and launched a website.
Where to read the I Have a Crush at Work manga series
The original I Have a Crush at Work manga was serialized in Kodansha’s Morning magazine, and then collected into the now-complete 15 volume series.
Outside Japan, Kodansha USA is publishing the manga in English, with four volumes out so far and Volume 5 due to be published on August 13th.
They explain the manga’s plot like this:
Yui Mitsuya and Masugu Tateishi aren’t just any coworkers—they totally have the hots for each other. His helpful yet humble attitude makes her giddy, and her cuteness leaves him grinning like a fool.
Problem is, they’re trying to keep their new relationship under wraps to avoid making things awkward at work. But seeing how they can’t keep their hands off each other, they run the risk of spilling their little secret with each passing day at the office.
There is no word yet on how many episodes the anime will get, when it will premiere, or any information on the studio, staff or cast.
We will update you here at Leo Sigh as soon as more information is released.
Until then, enjoy the first I Have a Crush at Work teaser visual above.
