The KBS2 weekend drama Iron Family, Episode 7 aired last night in South Korea to its highest Saturday ratings since the show premiered on September 28th.
On that day, the K-drama earned its lowest Saturday rating, as it has grabbed higher ratings every Saturday since. Including last night.
Last night, Iron Family, Episode 7 earned 15.3 percent of the nationwide audience, which is a solid increase from last Saturday’s viewership of 14.7 percent.
Viewers in Seoul actually fell slightly, from last Saturday’s 13.5 percent to last night’s 13.3 percent — but such a small drop, it’s unimportant.
Iron Family was also, yet again, the #1 drama as well as the most-watched TV show in South Korea, of any kind, for the entire week.
Comments from viewers on various platforms, however, are all over the place with some loving the drama and its characters, while others are complaining Lee Da Rim (beautifully played by Geum Sae Rok) is “whiny” for being upset about going blind.
Yes, a complete lack of empathy is a thing with some people.
People who, if the same thing happened to them, may not be as “strong” as they believe they would be, as you have no idea how you would react to a situation until it happens to you.
Personally, I don’t think Da Rim is too negative at all — she’s just been dealt a poor hand in life, and so is feeling more than a little beat down.
Iron Family airs again in South Korea tonight, with Viki streaming it internationally for its subscribers.
Let’s see if it will earn another ratings increase compared to last Sunday’s show as well. Fingers crossed.
