Kaiju No. 8’s “Bungui-toge Subjugation Operation” trailer drops – at least it features Reno
The anime that has had the most disappointing second season this year has to be Kaiju No. 8, Season 2.
An anime that had a spectacular first season, but one that collapsed into mind-numbing stupidity and mediocrity only a couple of episodes into its second season as most of the characters who made the first season as brilliant as it was disappeared, and as Kafka disintegrated into someone who was so terrified of kaiju he couldn’t even transform into his most powerful self.
Now, over halfway through Kaiju No. 8‘s second season (it’s only 11 episodes), the anime is heading into a new arc with Episode 8.
An arc I couldn’t care less about as I dropped Season 2 after Episode 4, but you might.

An arc that unlike most of the first half of Season 2, does at least feature the fabulous Reno.
Episode 8 itself will premiere on Saturday, September 6th on Crunchyroll.
Kaiju No. 8, Season 2 production details
The second season of the sci-fi anime series is again being directed by Shigeyuki Miya, with Ichiro Okouchi ( in charge of series composition, and Tetsuya Nishio both in charge of character designs and serving as animation director.
Production I.G. who, sadly. is doing a mediocre job compared to what they achieved with Season 1, is again animating the series.
