Kana Hanazawa joins Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms cast as Tsubomi Haruno

Another Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms cast member has been announced today.

This time it is voice actress Kana Hanazawa, who will be joining the anime cast to voice Tsubomi Haruno – a fan girl who likes Medaka just a bit too much.

Along with the announcement via the upcoming anime’s official X account, an updated visual was also released– this time a 3-person graphic featuring Asahi, Medaka and now Haruno.

A short Tsubomi Haruno character trailer (watch below) also features the voice of Kana Hanazawa talking to the three other girls who have previously been introduced to us.

And yes, they are all still talking about the letter they all received,

Although, of course, nobody has any idea who sent it.

Kana Hanazawa joins main members Sora Amamiya (Asahi),  Yu Serizawa (Mona) and Ryota Iwasaki (Medaka) in the Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms cast.

The Japanese voice actress is known, of course, for what seem like hundreds of acting roles — including, most recently, Sylphy in A Nobody’s Way Up to an Exploration Hero, Nadeko in Monogatari Series: Off & Monster, Mitsuri in Demon Slayer, Hotaru in A Condition Called Love, Ran in Urusei Yatsura, and Shiemie in Ao no Exorcist.

The upcoming school-themed comedy anime series is based on the hit manga by Ran Kuze (Hitori and Ippiki).

The manga is currently available in English via Kodansha USA, with 13 volumes already out and Volume 14 due out on October 8, 2024.

Kodansha describes the Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms plot like this:

Mona is the cutest girl in school, and she knows it. In fact, she has everyone wrapped around her pretty little finger—everyone, that is, except Medaka Kuroiwa, a recent transfer student.

Determined to win him over and solidify her reign as unchallenged queen bee, Mona rolls out the red carpet for her newest would-be subject, only for the stone-cold stoic to glare her down at every turn! Just how far will she go to prove her charms are truly irresistible and win over the last unclaimed heart in school?

And why is it that her chest keeps getting tighter the harder he proves to conquer?

Anime production is being carried out at studio SynergySP (Mr. Villain’s Day Off), with the anime due to premiere some time in 2025.
