Law and the City Ep 4 grabs its BEST ratings yet – international ratings also rising

Well, it’s up and down, up and down for ongoing tvN drama Law and the City it appears as, after Episode 3 earned the drama’s lowest ratings yet on Saturday, Law and the City, Episode 4 grabbed its best ratings on Sunday.

And, yes, I am thrilled, as I pointed out yesterday the law-themed drama and its ensemble cast are superb, and deserve far higher ratings and much more attention than they have been getting.

On Sunday evening then, while still not garnering the double digits I believe it should be earning, at least the Korean drama is heading back in the right direction.

According to Nielsen Korea, Law and the City, Episode 4 grabbed 5.59 percent of the nationwide audience last night, which was a large increase from the 4.41 percent it garnered on Saturday.

The Korean drama saw a similar result with viewers in Seoul, where Episode 4 amassed 5.59 percent of that region’s viewers — nicely up from its all-time low of 4.56 percent for Episode 3.

With eight more episodes of the legal drama still to air, that also gives Law and the City plenty of time to continue its journey upwards.

International ratings on MDL rising slightly

The ratings on Asian drama-themed website My Drama List (MDL) have also risen slightly after Episode 4 aired. Although, again, they should be much higher.

Starting out at a low 7.6 when Law and the City premiered on July 5th, they rose to 7.7 yesterday and, after Episode 4 aired, have now risen to a still-too-low 7.8 out of 10.

That rating, though, will likely continue to rise as the Korean drama airs, as trolls on MDL downrate most dramas when they first begin airing, only to have them rise as new episodes continue to drop.

Considering Law and the City is currently rated a 9.4 out of 10 on Viki, the platform where it is actually streaming, it is obvious the drama is much better than MDL’s ratings suggest.

Especially as, when you read the comments on both Viki and MDL from people watching it, they are overwhelmingly positive as well.

Law and the City‘s excellent ensemble cast is Lee Jong SukMoon Ga Young, Kang You Seok, Ryu Hye Young, and Im Seong Jae.

The Korean drama’s next episode airs on Saturday, July 19th. Check out its (only Korean language, sorry) preview below.
