Following on from Klein Moretti’s birthday greeting in March and that for Alger Wilson’s birthday visual also back in March, we have another Lord of the Mysteries character’s birthday today.
And this time it is the quite naive, but honest and sincere, Derrick Berg who is celebrating a birthday today — April 19th, 2025.
Readers of the novel series will know Derrick as a Beyonder of The Sun Pathway, who goes by the nickname The Sun.
The Derrick Berg birthday visual shows the Beyonder still as his teenage self wearing his trademark tight black suit and white shirt, and making a wish as his birthday cake candles burn.
It appears he is happy with the cake, as a slight smile has appeared on his face. And yep, isn’t he just so handsome!!!

Lord of the Mysteries donghua premiere details
The upcoming donghua adaptation of the hit novel series written by Cuttlefish That Loves Diving (爱潜水的乌贼) is being animated by BC May Pictures (Mo Dao Zu Shi).
A recent announcement confirmed Lord of the Mysteries is due to premiere on July 7th, and will be a Tencent exclusive. Of course, as its novel series is such an enormous hit, both inside and outside China, it could very well end up being one of the most successful donghua of this year.
The Chinese anime’s latest trailer was also released last month, which you can watch below.
Its art style and animation is beautiful so, yes, if you are a fan of the original novel series, I would venture a guess you are going to love this.
