The new tvN drama Maestra: Strings of Truth premiered last night in South Korea to solid ratings for its first episode.
According to data from Nielsen Korea, Maestra: Strings of Truth, Episode 1 earned 4.19 percent of the audience share nationwide, and a higher 4.54 percent in Seoul.
Those ratings for the mystery thriller music-themed drama are not only excellent for a first episode of any drama airing on cable TV, but they are also higher than the first episode Castaway Diva earned on tvN in the same time slot.
What is the plot of Maestra: Strings of Truth about?
The latest tvN drama stars Lee Young Ae (Inspector Koo), Lee Moo Saeng (The Glory), Kim Young Jae (Numbers), and Hwang Bo Reum Byeol (School 2021).
The Korean drama is based on the French TV series Philharmonia, and follows Cha Se Eum (Lee Young Ae) one of the world’s few female conductors as she goes through life with a secret that, if revealed, could destroy her life.
Meanwhile, in the orchestra she is currently conducting, strange events are taking place.
Maestra: Strings of Truth airs every Saturday and Sunday at 21:20 (KST) on tvN in South Korea, with TVING also streaming the drama.
Outside Korea, Maestra: Strings of Truth is streaming via Disney Plus and Hulu in some regions, including the United States.
