New Clevatess visual has Alicia and the heroes gear up to defeat the Demon King

With a fair few cool looking anime dropping in July, we are also getting some pretty nice visuals releasing this week in anticipation of a great Summer, 2025 anime season.

One of them is action fantasy anime Clevatess: Majuu no Ou to Akago to Shikabane no Yuusha, which just released a new ‘episode visual’ that looks at the events before the anime story begins.

The visual came out on the official Clevatess X account with the comment:

Alicia and the other heroes gear up before defeating the Demon King, Crebates. What will be their fate?

The upcoming dark fantasy anime is based on the manga series written and illustrated by Yūji Iwahara.

Titled in Japanese, クレバテス−魔獣の王と赤子と屍の勇者−, that translates into English as Clevatess: The King of Magical Beasts, the Baby, and the Corpse Hero.

The manga has seven volumes out in Japanese so far, and with Volume 8 dropping at the end of this month.

As for the Clevatess plot, the first volume of the manga explains it like this:

After killing the hero and the king, the demon beast has obtained the “baby of destiny”…

The demon beast king, Klevates, possesses superhuman intelligence and destructive power. Enraged by the 13 heroes who were ordered to defeat him, he decides to destroy humanity, but an unexpected and troublesome package is entrusted to him.

It is a newborn human baby. Will the story be about the apocalypse of the end of the world, or the diary of childcare for a new era? 

Kiyotaka Taguchi (Episode director for Tokyo Magnitude 8.0) is directing the anime, with Keigo Koyanagi (The Rising of the Shield Hero) in charge of series composition, and Souichirou Sako (Buddy Daddies) designing the characters and also serving as Chief Animation Director.

Studio Lay-duce (Yuru Yuri) is animating the series.
